Panasonic GH1 Firmware Breakthrough Pushes Higher Bitrates Than Canon 5D Mark II

Recent developments with custom GH1 firmware have achieved some major results:
    80Mbit+ MJPEG 1080p
    44Mbit+ AVCHD 1080p

What makes this all the more astounding is that the firmware was being hacked by someone who didn't even originally own a GH1 until after he had already made some major accomplishments and users donated to purchase the camera for him to continue his research. This has to go down as one of the greatest technical achievements in the modern video dslr age and "tester13" should be congratulated on the work he has and still is accomplishing.

    Recent developments:
    • Native 24p/25p patch modified to prevent freezing on playback.
    • Simplified video bitrate patch added.
    • MJPEG 1280m Size related patches returned by request.
    • MJPEG 1280m 420->422 Color Sampling patch added.
    • Has G2 firmware from undisclosed source. All seems pretty promising.
